It's always been true that window blinds are often one of the last decorative furnishings added to a room, so are often white or cream to blend in with the other furnishings.
There's nothing wrong with this as in fact almost every blind in our houses at New House are white, neutral or grey.
Window blinds must be the ultimate in clean aestetic, having no fabric folds, uncomplicated mechanisms and always roll up into the smallest and most discrete of window furnishings. Simple is often best!
Simple is often our watchword but we still enjoy adding a little discrete colour, drama or interest to a window blind in ways that don't over do things.
Take our pulls for example and over the years we have developed lots...
Even if your blind is motorized or comes with a side chain, adding a pull as a decorative focal point always looks great, even from the outside! Windows have amazing light, so we often find a glass pull or something shiny and metallic like a pewter pull, or a pop of colour for a more nautical look in a bathroom :
Sometimes a blind can look just a bit too plain, so a length of decorative trimming, braid or a pompom is just the thing :
If you are buying a new roller blind, most of the UK's blind makers have accounts with us and can easily obtain our trimmings. Alternatively, if you have a glue-gun and your blind is already in your window, it is actually very easy to add a little extra decoration.
Over the years we have developed and designed many eye-catching trims to choose from such as these :
Each of these items will help personalize your blind and help make your window unique!
