Stop-Motions for export

yarn-breakage detector for textile industry

New House have been designing and manufacturing yarn-breakage detector systems for the textile industry for over 70 years.

Called stop-motions in the textile trade, our first detectors were developed by Harold and John Stanier who were trying to use early nylon in their own production plant. In those days textured nylon was weak and the yarns constantly broke, so systems were required to detect when this happened. British Nylon Spinners (and later Courtaulds) supplied nylon to the Company and spotted their innovative systems, asking if Harold and John could equip their factories too?

They did and ever since NHT has continously developed our Stop-Motion systems.

Today, with often 1000’s of ends going into modern high-speed looms it is more critical than ever to spot a broken yarn, before lengths of faulty fabric are produced.

Germany is still the home of the world’s most advanced textile machinery and New House are proud that our yarn-breakage detectors are part of the supply chain.

This year, despite the difficulties of Covid, NHT has successfully completed a number of orders of detectors that that have been exported and fitted as OE in overseas textile factories.
