Heimtextil 2019

Heimtextil in Frankfurt is Europe's largest interior textile fair and always in the second week of January. This makes it always the first fair of the year and one of the most important and interesting too.

Heimtextil is a truly global exhibition with 70,000 visitors from 135 countries seeing 3000 stands from 64 countries. 

New House are usually there as this show is always a great kick-off to the New Year and a chance to see what's happening design-wise overseas and in Europe. 

New House have many overseas customers and suppliers for our roller blind fabrics and accessories, so Heimtextil is a great way to meet many under the numerous roofs of the huge Frankfurt Messe complex.

Good, comfortable shoes are recommended as you can walk miles at Heimtextil. The halls are huge and even though there is a shuttle bus service and airport-style movable walkways between the halls, only those with the best footwear survive!

New House's interest is in roller blinds or 'sun protection'. The hall for this used to 4.2, but this year was moved to huge hall 8.0 and merged with curtains and soft furnishings to become 'Window & Interior Decoration'.

This was a good thing, as the vibrancy of curtain design worked well with blinds and shutters of our industry. Many curtain companies, such as JAB Anstoetz have realised the importance of blinds in contemporary interiors and have developed blind ranges of their own, so the merge was quite seamless.  

 

There were also many trend displays that the organisers had organised for extra interest, which drew from fabrics on show in the hall (like those below). 

 

 

As World leaders in traditional roller blind spring systems for window roller blinds, Domicet are one of New  House's excellent suppliers and had a stand in 8.0. 

 

 

Heimtextil is famous for it's Trend Hall which this year was in hall 3.0, next to designers and digital printing. For the 7th year, FranklinTill Studio had created the show and put the trends and displays together in a good logical order. 

 Called 'towards Utopia' the show was an interesting mix of underlying trends and developments in the world around. The display was divided into several sections entitled Pursue Play, Seek Sanctuary, Go Off Grid, Escape Reality and Embrace Indulgence.
